Department of forensic psychiatry with enhanced security for minors No. XXIII

In the Hospital for the Nervous and Mentally Ill. St. Kryzana in Starogard Gdański there is a forensic psychiatry ward with enhanced security for minors in pavilion XXIII

Legal basis:

  1. Regulation of the Minister of Health of 20 April 2005 on the detailed rules for the management, admission, transfer, dismissal and stay of minors in public health care institutions (Journal of Laws No. 79 of 2005, item 692)
  2. Act of October 26, 1982 on juvenile delinquency proceedings (consolidated text: Journal of Laws of 2002, No. 11, item 109)
 

Whom we accept:

  • girls and boys from 13 to 18 years of age
  • adoption by a court order on the enforcement of a therapeutic measure
  • there is a possibility of accepting the so-called Health monitoring (there must be a provision as above, but for a temporary period, e.g. 1 month, 3 months) After this period, the experts give an opinion on whether the patient qualifies for treatment in our department.
 

Social conditions:

  • good conditions of stay (department after modernization)
  • rooms for 2-3 people
  • isolation rooms
  • therapy rooms
  • place for sports activities
  • yard
 

Security conditions:

  • enhanced (monitoring)
 

The goals of the department’s operation:

  • treatment of mental disorders
  • acquiring basic knowledge about the disease and the ability to deal with its symptoms,
  • addiction therapy
  • resocialization
 

Therapeutic team:

  • psychiatrist
  • psychologist
  • pedagogue
  • occupational therapist
  • nurses

 

Note: during their stay, young people may fulfill compulsory education
